April 20, 2025, Khotehang Rural Municipality

A special meeting held recently in Khotehang Rural Municipality of Khotang district has formed a Central Committee of Dawa. With the formation of this committee, concrete decisions have been made to protect and promote the cultural, historical, and social aspects of the Dawa community.

The main objective of the central committee is to promote the documentation of genealogy, traditions, customs, and culture and the publication of books. The committee has put forward a plan to compile the genealogy of the ancestors of the Dawa community and publish it in the form of a book in the near future. It is believed that this will be of great help in informing the new generation about their ancestors, ethnic identity, and historical background.

Similarly, it has been decided to systematically document and publish the original customs, traditions, traditional knowledge, and cultural characteristics of the Dawa community. This work is expected to preserve the originality of the Dawa community and give a message of diversity and tolerance to the entire Nepali society.

The gathering also decided to unite the people of the Dawa community living throughout Nepal and abroad to build a common identity and spread the message of social unity. Under this, a campaign will be launched to collect information about the Dawa community, register membership, and introduce the community at the international level.

It is believed that this historic decision will make a significant contribution to further strengthening the identity of the Dawa community and preserving its social, cultural, and historical heritage. At the initiative of the Central Committee, books, documents, and various materials will now be published to give a place to the existence and pride of the Dawa community in the new generation.

The committee officials and local representatives have called on everyone to unite, saying that these plans will be successful only with the active participation and support of the community.
